Just a Jersey girl, living in a cowgirl world

Hey y’all, my name is Anneliese and I’m the one-woman show behind Blue Lady Silver Co. I started silvermsithing back in 2020 after years of dreaming of making my own jewelry. I never intended to sell my work in the beginning, and mostly made jewelry as a creative outlet so I could fulfill my wildest turquoise silver dreams (and trust me, they were wild!) As I got better and better, my friends and family kept encouraging me to open up a shop and sell my work. I was hesitant at first, but in those moments I kept thinking of my Grandma Evelyn. An artist in Brooklyn during the mid-20th century, she embodied the willingness to be unconventional and break with traditional norms all while creating something magical in the process. Having her paintings growing up reminded me of the importance of determination, passion and going for what you wanted even if it went against the grain. There was one particular painting that had followed me to countless cities and states. It was a portrait of a turquoise-painted woman with her arms and elbows resting on a stool as she reclined on the ground. Created in the 70’s, it was full of psychedelic greens, blues, yellows and oranges (maybe the main influence of all my 70’s decor!) As I was contemplating whether or not I should finally sell my pieces, I looked up and saw that painting. The name Blue Lady Silver Co. lit up in my brain, and I knew in that moment the rest was history. I hope my pieces are a constant reminder of the beauty in life and in other people, and bring a sense of empowerment to everyone who wears them.
